Our FOOD
Gahwa serves fresh, authentic, traditional Korean food exactly the way our grandmother cooked for her kids and eventually her kids’ kids growing up. Sitting in front of a rich bowl of seolleongtang, next to a bowl of sticky white rice, and fresh kimchi is a meal full of memories.
Our roots
At Gahwa, experience authentic and traditional Korean cuisine through our Grandmother’s recipes. She brings her 40+ years of experience running a restaurant in the city of Suwon, South Korea since the ‘60s. After immigrating to Queens, New York in 1986 with her husband and kids, she worked from the ground up to ultimately open Gahwa and the rest is history.
seolleongtang 101
Does the seolleongtang taste bland? Yes? That’s because seolleongtang aka oxtail bone soup is normally served bland and it is up to the customer to season it to their liking. When you are seated at your table, look for a little pot with salt. Add generously, and enjoy.
Gahwa 가화
